one-day school week?

Monday: STEP data analysis and teacher work-time.
Tuesday: Hurricane effects in NE Ohio! Email sent out at 9:30 the night before saying school is canceled. For me, all-day at-home workday.
Wednesday: Teacher workday. Email sent out about parking indicates there is too much broken glass to hold school, and emails sent out by some teachers indicate their classrooms are extremely soggy.
Thursday: Teacher workday. Still too much glass for student safety, and they’re ripping up the carpet in one of the most high-traffic areas in the school.
Friday: maybe we’ll even teach some students today.

I spent all of today and yesterday Getting Stuff Done in my classroom. I kept trying to lesson plan and then thinking of one more thing that I haven’t had time to do. I went through all my cabinets, wrote personalized letters to all my kids about their assessment data, re-did my whiteboard setup, and revamped my seating chart with input from two different administrators. Now tomorrow can be devoted to lesson planning and making Smart Board documents.

This week has been kind of like fall break because I’m knocking out everything on my long-term to-do list.

I miss my students.
